Puddle jumping

I love sudden rainstorms.

We were all ready to go swiming at a relatives pool.

Everyone had their bathing suits and water shoes on. Then the skys got grey and thunder started to BOOM! It down poured for a good half hour.

After the rain slowed I headed for the door and said "well we can't go swimming but I'm going puddle jumping" They all flew out faster that I could get down the steps.

We stomped in all the puddles on our street and 3 other streets. One puddle they remembered from last year was still great. And to top it off one of our neighbors had a broken rain gutter and it was a great pour shower for heads.

I am waiting for the children to get out of the tub so that I can get in and get cleaned up. I stomped in a few puddles also and got all wet

Picnic, water slide and Congo drums

Today was the church picnic.

We all had a wonderful time. I got to chat with friends and meet the newest babies in the church. They are 4 month old twin boys and adorable.

The water slide was set up and the children and a few adults including Daddy had fun sliding down.

They also got a chance to play Congo drums. Katherine caught onto the "ma ma - pa pa" beat she was shown really quickly. Daniel and Jennifer enjoyed trying it also.

I have swimmers!

Well it was so close that I cannot say who actually swam first. They both are doing well swimming although Jennifer is doing much more and in the deep end.

They both started on Thursday but we kept it a big secret from Daddy because we wanted to surprise him today when we were all going to be at the pool together.

Jennifer got right into the deep end and just started swimming. She even started doing a normal swim stroke rather than just the doggy paddle.

Daniel had his friend Hunter at the pool with us again so he had fun playing and practicing swimming underwater in the low end.

extended family beach fun

Today we went to the beach and met up with some extended family.

The children and I hung back at the beach and played while Bumpa and Aunty went and visited some of his cousins camping close by. When they came back they brought Kyle. I can't believe he is 10 already. He is the grandson of Bumpas cousin Joe.

The children all had a great time playing together in the waves. Not long after Bumpa and Aunty got back Kyles Parents Jim and Jen came and met up with us. They brought Kyles 2 yr old little sister Madelyn. It was so nice seeing them again.
Some of the waves were pretty strong and one ended up knocking Bumpa over. It took both Jim and I to get him out of the surf.

We all got some fried dough to eat and ended up with lots of sand in uncomfortable places. Thankfully there were some fresh water showers to help a little with that problem.

learning to swim

Well the first two to learn how to swim will most likely be Jennifer and Daniel.

They are competing to see who will do it first and I am having a hard time figuring out who will actually DO it. They are both trying hard but Jennifer is doing much better right now. They were watching their friends Tara and Hunter swim today and I think they will have it figured out by the end of the week.

Their NEW room is done!

We decided that the girls needed a bit more space than what they had. They were sharing a room downstairs with two bunk bet sets. Katherine was above Stephanie and Jennifer was above Teeny. The room was an okay size but the older two had to always climb up to get into bed and it was a pain to make the top bunks.

We moved the girls into our room (we were calling it the master bedroom). It is a nice size about 18x20. Enough space for them all to have their beds at the same level and we moved our room into what we were calling the playroom. It is also a good size about 14x16. Now the girls old bedroom is going to be the "play room". We are not exactly sure how we are going to set it up yet.

This is a view of all 4 beds

The girls love their new space. We went to the dollar store and got some great sticker sets to decorate above each bed and to put their names on their headboards. I did the names and we did the walls above their beds together.

WaTeR pArK fUn

We went to the water park again today and I finally remembered my camera.

They love this place! I love this place!

I love it because it is free!

We brought a little friend along. She will most likely be with us whenever we go someplace fun this month.

They had a great time playing in the water side of the park

on the climbing structure

and in the field.

Finally an update

Have not posted in a while. Life is busy.

YEAH! it's vacation time. Thankfully the Co. I work for approved my 1 month vacation again this year. They were nice to approve it last July also.

We plan to do lots of day trips to the water park, the beach and a relatives pool and a trip to an amusement park later in the month. We might get in a 2 night camping trip but that may not happen.

Everyone was promoted to the next grade. Katherine and Jennifer will continue to stay separated as they enter the 4th grade and the triplets have decided to separate also now that they are entering the 2nd grade. They are excited about the idea of having their own teacher and building friendships on their own.

Fun updates to follow as time permits.
